You may or may not consider yourself political, but regardless of your self-assessment, politics affects you. In a school family of even a small size like ours, there are likely to be different ideas about a wide range of topics.
But there is at least one thing on which we would probably all agree: School Choice.
Most of you benefit from the choices you have in Arizona through the tax credit program or the Empowerment Scholarship Account (ESA). But we have leaders in our state who oppose these and are working to eliminate them. Their efforts largely failed in 2024.
Our state legislature has a slim majority of those favoring school choice. Every seat in the state legislature is up for election this year. You play an important role in this process. Look to see who's running in your Legislative District. Find out what their stand on issues like School Choice is. Then vote! A failure to participate could mean drastic changes for your ability to choose a school that works well for your family and children.
Arizona's primary election is Tuesday, July 30. A primary is a preliminary election that narrows down the field for the November general election. In some respects, this may be as important to getting a majority in both state houses as the general election itself. Check the Arizona Voter Guide for assistance. Hard copies are available in the school office or click the link above.
