CHRISTMAS TOY DRIVE

This year, our National Honor Society is hosting a Christmas toy drive. All donations will be going to Arizonans for Children, an organization that supports children in the foster care system. The toy drive will be a competition between homerooms and will run until Friday, December 12.

Donations must be new, unwrapped toys. Items most frequently needed are: dolls, sports balls, art kits, STEM project kits, Barbie sets, LEGO sets, board games, and toy makeup kits, but other toys are welcome as well. Points will be awarded based on the value of the toy donated. Homeroom teachers have the details.

The homeroom that earns the most points will be awarded with a provided lunch on Tuesday, December 16. Any homeroom earning at least 50 points will be part of the hot cocoa bar before school on Tuesday, December 16.

Volunteering is one of the best ways to connect with others at ALA. With that in mind, all ALA parents are encouraged to volunteer in 1 or 2 ways each season. It's not required, but it's a great way to meet other families while supporting ALA athletics.

COYOTE CAREER DAY - REMINDER

Reminder that juniors and seniors will be participating in Coyote Career Day from 2:30-3:30 pm this Thursday, November 20. All juniors and seniors are expected to attend and remain for the full hour. Sports practices will start once Career Day is complete.

CALLS UPDATE

Last month, two of our teachers received calls to serve at other schools: 

• Mr. Justin Ohm has received a call to serve as athletic director at Minnesota Valley Lutheran High School in New Ulm, Minnesota.
• Pastor Brad Bode has received a call to serve as campus pastor and religion teacher at Hope Christian Academy (grades 6-12) in Westland, Michigan. 

We are grateful to report that, after prayer and consideration, both have decided to return their calls and stay at Arizona Lutheran.

All parents and athletes participating in winter sports are invited to attend the Winter Sports Meeting on Friday at 6:30 PM in the gym.

MISSION CLUB PIZZA LUNCH

The AZ Lutheran Mission Club is hosting another pizza lunch to raise money to help cover costs of upcoming summer mission trips. The next pizza lunch will be on Friday, November 14. If interested in a day off from lunch prep, make sure to sign up before next Thursday, November 13 at noon. Pizza will be from Costco: $3/single slice, $5/double slice.

CAREER DAY

On Thursday, November 20, juniors and seniors will participate in a Career Day activity from 2:30–3:30 p.m. Professionals from a wide variety of careers will be on campus to share their experiences, backgrounds, and insights with our students.

This event provides an excellent opportunity for students to explore different career options and to learn what it’s like to be a Christian working in various fields. It will also help our juniors and seniors better understand the education and training required for different careers—valuable information as they plan for life after high school.

Coaches are aware of this change in schedule and will let athletes know how practice times will be adjusted that day.

Our football team has advanced to the 2A State quarterfinals!

We will be on the road this coming Friday, Nov. 14, 7 pm at St. Johns. We would like to have as many fans as possible attend, so we will dismiss school at 1:25pm on Friday and provide a charter bus for students, teachers, families, and Coyote fans. We need at least 40 people to sign up to make it happen.

Cost is $35 per person, and there are 55 seats available.  

1. Fan bus leaves AZ Lutheran on Friday at 1:30pm. There will be a brief stop for dinner along the way, and the bus will return to campus immediately after the game.

2. First: reserve your seat online here. Students can also sign up in the office; they have first priority if they sign up before noon on Tuesday.

3. Once the bus has reached 40 riders, we'll confirm with fans. Then, we ask bus riders to submit payment on Wednesday in one of two ways:

• Pay online here & enter $35 as a "Miscellaneous fee."

WELS NAT'L CHORAL FEST - SACRED CONCERT

Our A Cappella Choir is attending the 2025 WELS National Choral Festival at Fox Valley Lutheran this weekend. This event brings together hundreds of choral students from WELS schools across the nation. The mission of the WELS Choral Fest is to foster Christian fellowship among WELS high school students as they prepare, rehearse, and perform choral music, so that with one voice, they may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
