Good Shepherd Bible Camp (GSBC)
This is a great kids camp which ALA students have attended for decades!
Saturday, July 7 (arrive 4 PM) to Saturday, July 13 (leave Noon)
Angelus Oaks, CA
(about 5 hours from ALA, in the mountains of CA)
The camp is open to campers entering 4th-10th grade. If you are entering grade 11 or higher, there are many areas you can support GSBC as a "staff" member:
- Cabin Shepherd
- Activities Leader
- Crafts Leader
- Kitchen Staff
- Hike Leader
- Campfire Leader
- Canoeing Supervisor
- Life Guard (with Red Cross Cert Card)
- Archery Supervisor
- Photographer
2024 "Staff" Fee – $60
"Staff" is a volunteer position for students entering grade 11 or higher. You do not get paid.
Your volunteerism at GSBC would count at community hours on your 2024-25 service form.
Things to note:
- Parents: keep in mind that students often put off hours until later, thinking they "have plenty of time" to get them done.
- Make sure you understand the different kinds of service activities as well as the limitations and requirements.
- You know your child best! If he/she is capable of accomplishing service hours without your assistance, great! If not, please assist your child in finding and attending service activities.
